getting out of Istanbul

Hello all!
I'm wondering if anyone has advice for getting OUT of Istanbul going towards Edirne. I'll be taking the northern route on the D010 and D020, but I'm specifically looking for tips to get out of the city as I'll be leaving from Besiktas. any help is much appreciated!

Getting out of Istanbul

Hi I just arrived in from that direction two weeks ago. I used the Eski Edirne Asf road then onto the Fevzi Pasa Cd. It was not the worst road to use but it can get difficult when the road merges onto motorways and getting across the road can be difficult.

Hi all, for the moment I'm considering two options. Catch a bus outside of the urban center or do this route, which will be beautiful if not add a day or two to my trip:

I just tried to post this but I'm not sure it worked. If anyone is interested, this is the approximate route I'm going to take. It goes north along the bosphorus road and then swings up into the forest northwest of the city. Do it soon! They're planning on building a huge airport and a third bosphorus bridge, which will certainly mean the disappearance of huge portions of the forest and lots of new development in the area.

from besiktas try to go to kemerburgaz. like besiktas-karakoy-eminonu-eyup-hasdal-kemerburgaz. and then to isiklar-boyalica-arnavutkoy. and then cilingir-yassioren and you're on D020. and then saray-vize-pinarhisar-kirklareli-edirne.
