Cycling for The Green New Deal in the USA

This week I arrived in Krakow, Poland, where I'm ending my cycling tour for this year; at least on this side of the planet! Over a period of 5 and 1/2 months I did about 5.500 km through ten countries: Georgia, Armenia, Turkey, Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, and Poland.

Now starts a transitional phase for me in Berlin, Cologne and Chicago, preparing my next "adventure." I hope I can develop it as a collective effort, with many people participating. Otherwise I'll do it just as an individual action. That would in any case be better than not doing anything at all! I'm referring to my "Cycling for The Green New Deal" project. Over a period of 8 months or so I want to cycle through Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South and North Carolina, Virginia and then west to Chicago, and back south to Georgia and Florida through Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee.

All along the way we would be volunteering for Bernie Sanders's campaign and the campaigns of candidates supporting the Green New Deal. I need to make a detailed itinerary and propose it to people along those places, so they can join in a kind of "cycling train," sometimes just for a day, or a week, or for longer periods. We could join forces, share resources, etc. We could camp together, or share the efforts of looking for accommodation with fellow cyclists, e.g., Warmshowers members or organizing members of the various campaigns. It would be great if we could also document it somehow and make a "film" or documentary out of it. Anybody interested in participating?

This is an interesting idea -- when are you thinking of doing this tour?

Cycling for the Green New Deal 2019-2020

Hello Hannah,
I hope to begin sometime before the end of November 2019... and slowly go through a bit of Texas, then Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, spend the rest of the winter in Florida and then in the spring up toward/through Georgia, South and North Carolina, etc.... ending up either by the fall (before the November 2020 elections) in Chicago or way down in Florida again.
Are you currently cycling? Where?
