We almost always forget to set our unavailability before we leave our home. Likewise, we would probably also forget to set it back to "available" upon our return.
It would work great to have the ability to set a range of dates for unavailability at any time before the subject dates. The status would reset to available once the range of dates has passed.
In fact I would also enjoy to see a "vacation period" with a begin and an end date. That would save the hassle of setting/unsetting the "Not Available" button, which a lot of people forget to use either way :-)
sure would be nice when you log in,
if right at the top it flashed "inactive"
and you could just click "go active"
